In 1987 I graduated from Portageville High School, and started college at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO. I graduated in May, 1992, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Member of following organizations, and attend workshops and conferences yearly.
In August, 2000 I started teaching at Sikeston as a High School Business Teacher. I’ve been here for the past 20 years, and I love it! Currently, I am teaching Personal Finance, CP Accounting I, and CP Accounting II. In addition, I help Mrs. Davault with Future Business Leaders of America. (FBLA)
Prior to coming to Sikeston, I started my teaching career at my alma mater, Portageville High School in August, 1994. For 6 years, I taught a variety of business classes including Keyboarding, Introduction to Business, Accounting, Business Technology, and Business Communications. In addition, I was the Future Teachers of America sponsor and co-sponsor of FBLA.
After I graduated from college, I worked as a secretary for the Missouri Division of Family Services in Sikeston and for the Scott County Clerk’s Office in Benton.
I married Dean Spurlock in October, 2000, and he is a heavy duty truck salesman for TAG Truck Centers in Sikeston. We have been blessed with 2 children, who both attended Sikeston R6 Schools. Julia is in her 1st year at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO; while Payton is a Senior at SHS this year and enjoys golf, BUMS, and farming with his uncles.
In the summer of 2013, Susie, our shih tzu-mix dog joined the family. She has become the center of attention in our little family, and we just love her!
In my spare time, I love to play golf with my husband, watch my children in their activities, play with my dog, Susie, read, work in my yard and help out at my church.
